How to use an impossible site ?
The City of New York invited architects to envision a solution for unusually small lots. To arrive at a viable strategy, proposals had to challenge the Zoning Resolution, a planning document that has shaped municipal development for a century. The City’s appeal included a specific agenda:
- how to generate value from awkward properties
- how to introduce new buildings in existing neighborhoods
- how to combine innovation with affordability
